Dr. Alicia M. Hancock

Dr. Alicia M. Handcock is a registered clinical psychologist in Bermuda.  She returned to Bermuda in 2006 and spent her first year at the Employee Assistance Programme of Bermuda before transitioning into private practice in 2007.  She has 13 years of clinical experience in the mental health field which includes inpatient psychiatric hospital settings, outpatient services, and various interactions with child protective services and school-based settings.  She has a diverse counseling and psychological testing background inclusive of both adults and children.

Dr. A. Hancock received her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at Spalding University, and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology as well as her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and American Psychotherapy Association.  Prior to coming to Bermuda, Dr. A. Hancock worked as a therapist at a residential program for children ages 8-13.  She conducted individual, group and family therapy and oversaw the programming of the unit.  Prior to this, she worked in an inpatient psychiatric hospital in which she conducted individual, group and family therapy for children and adults, and conducted intake assessments for patients in crisis. Additionally, she conducted psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessments for both adults and children. Aside from therapeutic interventions, Dr. A. Hancock has provided community seminars on a variety of topics.

Dr. A. Hancock’s clinical interests include psychological testing, individual and group therapy.  She has worked with victims of trauma, grief/loss, divorce/separation, mood and anxiety disorders, sexual orientation issues, behavioral disorders, ADHD, pervasive developmental disorders, adjustment disorders, and parent-child relationship issues.
