
Dr. S. Glenn Faries

Dr. Glenn Faries is a Bermudian who has spent the majority of his educational and career life in Canada and the US, in addition to some time working in Africa and Australia. He is a graduate of the University of Alberta School of Medicine, obtaining a BMedSc degree in 1981 and his MD degree in 1983. Post-Doctoral training was undertaken at McGill University, University of Toronto and Sick Kids Hospital, University of Alabama at Birmingham and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, as well as at the University of New South Wales and Camperdown Children’s Hospital (now Westmead Children’s Hospital.)
He is an academic physician who, until just prior to returning to Bermuda, was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Colorado Children’s Hospital. His clinical focus was Pediatric Emergency Medicine; his fields of interest included medical education at all levels across the spectrum from Pre-med through to Continuing Medical Education for practicing physicians, as well as injury prevention, especially for underserved populations.
After returning to Bermuda, Dr. Faries has dedicated his energy, skills and enthusiasm to work in the third sector in Bermuda, focusing specifically on issues pertaining to our island’s children and young adults. He has a passion for seeing that every individual has the tools needed to pursue his or her dreams, and live a successful, happy and productive life, in a caring and nurturing environment, from childhood through to adulthood.
