
Terry Cox
SCARS Director
Terry Cox holds a bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. She has served as a Teacher, Mentor Teacher, Deputy Principal, Acting Principal, Staff Development Officer and presently an Assistant Director, Educational Standards and Accountability at the Department of Education. Her career in education has spanned 32 years. She is known as an advocate for children as has been supportive of SCARS for many years. She is also supportive of schools becoming less punitive and more restorative in their practices.
Terry, is a member of Bethel AME Church where she serves as Christian Education Director and former director of the Young Peoples Department. She is the mother of two children ages 29 and 20 and proud auntie with nieces and nephews including adults with the youngest being only a year old.
